Introduction


The Shokan is the brainchild of architect Jay Bargmann who is a pioneer in the field of architecture. He is well known for the intelligent modern house designs that he creates along with his team at Rafael Vinoyl Architects, where he is the vice president.

The Structure and Framework Of The Shokan House


  • A grand living room is observed as one enters the house. It is a large vestibule having a concrete foundation. 
  • A fireplace greets its residents at the porch and gives a warm and welcoming feeling. 
  • There are two levels to this house. The first floor consists of a living area, a kitchen, and a bedroom.
  • A stunningly beautiful steel staircase connects the two levels. The first floor is also adorned by a beautiful library that was constructed out of the literary interest of the architect Jay Bargmann. 
  • The furnishing of the walls is done with walnut color. This ensures that the feeling of living among the woods seeps into the home too.
